Former State Councilor for Social Affairs, Tyrolean Provincial Government; Lecturer and mediator
Christine Baur is a legal expert, holding the degree of a Juris Doctor, and mediator. At the beginning of her career she worked ten years as a research assistant at the Innsbruck University and has been an associate lecturer for Gender and Law for the past 25 years. She gained another ten years of professional experience as Ombud for Equal Treatment in the private sector, after which she turned to politics. During ten years she has actively shaped Tyrolean politics as a Member of the Tyrolean Parliament – five of those as Tyrolean State Secretary for Social Affairs. During her mandate as State Secretary a new law for disability aid was participatively developed, which has entered into force on July 1st, 2018. She lives nearby Innsbruck.
