Co-Founder, Plan:Kooperativ, Heidelberg, Amt für unlösbare Aufgaben
Matthias Burgbacher studied sociology and psychology in Heidelberg. He is co-founder and managing director of the agency PLAN:KOOPERATIV, with which he conceives, conducts and evaluates public participation processes in urban development projects. Since 2014 he teaches and researches at the department of planning of city districts at the faculty of architecture at KIT in Karlsruhe.
With the "Amt für unlösbare Aufgaben” (“office for unsolvable tasks"), which he founded with three colleagues in the course of the "PhaseXI"-project, he developed alternatives for "defensive, bureaucratic routines" in municipalities on behalf of the Competence Center for Creative Industries of the Federal Government and the Federal Ministry of Economics. Since then he works in several projects in the field of creative bureaucracy.
