Prof. Dr. Jürgen Stember, Dipl.-Geogr., doctorate in political science worked after studying in Münster seven years in the district administration Soest in North Rhine-Westphalia. He moved to Harz University in 1999 as Professor of Public Management, where he was Dean from 2006 to 2018.
There, he headed numerous third-party funded projects, for example e-government, knowledge-management, administrative-modernization and business-development. He is not only a member of the Digitization Advisory Council of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, but also a member of the Innovator's Club of the Deutscher-Städte- und Gemeindebund. Currently, he is also President of the Rectors' Conference of Universities for the public Service and co-initiator of the nationwide practice and research network of the Universities for the public Service in Germany.
