Klaus Vitt is State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community and Federal Government Commissioner for Information Technology. He studied communications engineering at the University of Applied Sciences of the Deutsche Bundespost, and mathematics/computer science at the University of Dortmund. He gained his first professional experience in various IT enterprises and with the Bertelsmann AG. Afterwards he held a position of responsibility in the IT section of the Deutsche Telekom AG. Between 2006 to 2015, he was Managing Director of the Federal Employment Agency’s Central IT and Chief Representative for information technology and process management at the Federal Employment Agency’s Head Office.
