Curator and coordinator of the Public Service Art Residency, Automatica, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil
Luiza Mello is a producer, publisher and curator based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2005 she launched Automatica, a production company and publishing house focused on cultural projects. In 2018 she curated the exhibition Dreaming Awake in Marres, Maastricht, The Netherlands and Barrão – Mufa Caos, Jacarandá, Rio de Janeiro. Since 2011, Mello is the coordinator of Galpão Bela Maré, a cultural center in Favela da Maré, Rio de Janeiro, where she organizes art exhibitions and educational projects. Under her imprint ARTEBRA Mello edits and publishes a series of monographs on Brazilian artists such as Luiz Zerbini, Lucia Koch, Barrão, Gabriela Machado, Marcos Chaves and Livia Flores.
