As department chief for state personnel, Martin Jammer is responsible for all personnel related issues in the state of Berlin. Born in Hamburg he studied law, political science and history in Frankfurt and has completed his legal internship in the 1990s in Berlin. Martin Jammers career started as teamleader for parts of the state budget department. Following that, he worked a couple of years as head of human resources at Berlinwasser Gruppe. In 2003 he was head of the department for personnel policy in the Senate of Finance of Berlin, where for 10 years he was responsible for implementing the personnel reduction. Today Martin Jammer is happy to see that the administration of Berlin is growing just like the city does. The diversity of issues and topics such as personnel budget, personnel plan, labour law, public servant law as well as all the aspects of modern personnel management is what makes this job so interesting for him.
