Torsten Perner holds a diploma in Transport Engineering from the Dresden University of Technology, specialising in transport planning and the technology of transport. In over 18 years of activity, both as a consultant and as an employee of the city council of Freiburg im Breisgau, he has managed numerous complex transport planning projects both within Germany and abroad. Starting with public transport, he has always favoured intermodal approaches with a view to finding the best possible solutions.
The main emphasis of his consulting activities is on the integrated development of transport services and transport infrastructure on urban, regional, national and international level – as seen for example in numerous German-Polish INTERREG projects for VBB [the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association], SenUVK [the Berlin Senate Department for the Environment, Transport and Climate Protection] and, the development of an integrated synchronised timetable for the Voivodeship of Masovia in Poland, the planning of transport services for Rail Baltica and currently the development of cycle superhighways in Berlin. He is familiar with the various players at federal, state and municipal level, as well as with the infrastructure and transport companies. He is able to lend support in all technical and economic aspects of transport and infrastructure development and service planning.
